Taking one for the team

There are times when golfers play in a four ball match that individual sacrifice is necessary for the good of the team. Examples include putting "out of turn" when your putt will show your partner the line, picking up when your putt will be showing one of your opponents the line and playing a safe shot when you really want to go for that par 5 green in two. Therefore when seeking a golfing partner for your next 4 ball match always consider whether or not he or she is willing to take one for the team.
